By the end of May, over 53,000 apprenticeship contracts had been concluded in Switzerland. This is around 2,000 more than in the same period last year, as reported by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation on Tuesday.
The situation on the apprenticeship market is positive, wrote the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). As at the end of May 2024, slightly more apprenticeship contracts had been concluded across Switzerland than in the same period last year.
As usual at this time of year, there are still apprenticeship vacancies at the start of 2024. As at the end of May, the cantons' official apprenticeship register had just under 20,000 vacancies for the start of the 2024 apprenticeship. The allocation of apprenticeship positions is therefore comparable to previous years.
For young people who do not yet have an apprenticeship at the start of 2024, the chances of finding an apprenticeship now are intact.
