The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has announced changes to its publication practices for banking statistics following the takeover of Credit Suisse by its competitor UBS. Going forward, the SNB will no longer publish data separately for each banking group. This is because the “Grossbanken” group now only includes institutions from one single corporation, and to protect the confidentiality of the data, the SNB will no longer publish data for this group. Additionally, the SNB will no longer publish data for other banking groups, as this could be used to infer data for the “Grossbanken” group. From June 30th 2023, only the total “All Banks” will be published. The SNB will consider whether it is possible to publish the former banking group aggregates for selected data, and will also evaluate alternative classifications.nnnnnnnnnn
