Snowboarder dies after falling into crevasse near Saas-Fee

A snowboarder fell into a crevasse while freeriding above Saas-Fee VS on Thursday and died. The victim was a 30-year-old Chinese woman.
The snowboarder was skiing off the marked piste on the Fee Glacier shortly after 12 noon together with another person, the Valais cantonal police reported on Friday. During the descent, she then fell several meters.
The emergency services were only able to determine that the woman had died. The circumstances that led to the accident have not yet been clarified and are being investigated by the public prosecutor's office.
