The snowfall on Monday morning led to restrictions in road and rail traffic throughout Switzerland. Among other things, the A1 between Bern Brünnen and Mühleberg was closed due to a truck stuck in the snow, as reported on the TCS website.
The Federal Roads Office (Astra) recommended bypassing the region via the A12 to Lausanne. On the A3 between the Luterbach and Solothurn Ost junctions, according to the TCS, an overturned truck also blocked an exit.
The cantonal road between Welschenrohr and Flumenthal in the canton of Solothurn was also closed due to a snow-covered road, it was reported.
There were also restrictions on rail traffic. On Monday morning, rail traffic at St-Imier BE station was restricted due to heavy snowfall, as reported by SBB on its website. Delays and cancellations were to be expected.
