If the Swiss National Council had been elected in mid-July, the SVP would have won, while the Greens would have lost votes, according to a recent survey commissioned by Tamedia and 20 Minuten. The SVP would have gained 2.3 percentage points, bringing their voter share to 27.9%, while the Greens would have lost 2.5 percentage points, bringing their voter share to 10.7%. The FDP would have lost 0.8 percentage points, bringing their voter share to 14.3%, and the Mitte would have gained 0.1 percentage points, bringing their voter share to 13.9%. The SP and GLP would have both gained voter shares, with the SP remaining the second strongest party in the National Council at 17.3% (+0.5 percentage points) and the GLP at 10.7% (+0.4 percentage points). Healthcare costs remain the most pressing issue for Swiss voters, with 70% of respondents citing it as their top concern, up 3 percentage points from the February 2023 survey. Altersvorsorge and Renten (retirement and pensions) came in second at 53%, followed by migration and zuwanderung (immigration) at 48%, energy supply at 43%, and climate change at 42%. Healthcare costs were the top concern for voters of the FDP, Mitte, and SP, while it was in the top three for the GLP, Greens, and SVP. The survey results were based on 25,688 responses from participants modelled according to demographic, geographic, and political variables.
