According to an SRG survey conducted around seven weeks before the vote next February, the Young Greens' environmental responsibility initiative would have been rejected by a relative majority. 49 percent of voters would have definitely or rather voted against it.

Almost two thirds of those willing to participate expressed a firm intention to vote and only 6% were undecided, as SRG announced on Friday. For the first wave of the SRG trend survey on the vote on February 9, 2025, 18,845 people eligible to vote were surveyed across Switzerland from December 2 to 16. The statistical margin of error is +/-2.8 percentage points.

The gender gap is striking: 56 percent of women agreed in the survey conducted by the JRC Bern research institute, but only 37 percent are definitely in favor. Men were 59 percent against it. In their forecast, 81% of those eligible to vote assumed that the initiative would be rejected.
