The successful authors Martin Suter and Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre are writing another book together. They are publishing a volume of conversations under the title: "No reason to start shouting right away." This was announced by both writers to the German Press Agency.

Von Stuckrad-Barre (49) explained the topics covered: "Everything that's on our minds at the moment. Today, for example, we spent three hours talking about flowers. The day before yesterday about lies." Suter (76) added: "Simply about life, which has also changed since the first volume. We both wrote new novels. And the fact that my wife died during this time naturally makes the conversations a little more fundamental here and there. But we also still talk about banalities." Suter's wife, fashion designer Margrith Nay Suter, died in 2023 at the age of 72. The couple had been together for around 45 years.

The two writers, who have both already produced a wide range of work, published the discussion volume "Alle sind so ernst geworden" in 2020. In it, they talked about swimming trunks, glitter and sour meat. The new book is due to be published in October. The two are also going on a reading tour from December 14. They start in Berlin. Other cities include Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Zurich and Vienna.

Swiss author Suter, who recently published the novel "Allmen and Mr. Weynfeldt", said of the conversations: "We've been talking on and off since the last volume." The last conversation in volume 1 was in summer 2020. Since then, the writers have continued to talk to each other.

Von Stuckrad-Barre ("Panikherz", "Soloalbum") explained: "We see each other every few months in very different places, next month in Marrakesh, for example, and we will also record new conversations there." The whole thing works like this: The two authors meet up, record conversations, put them in writing and revise them.

Von Stuckrad-Barre caused a stir in the media industry last year. He published his novel "Noch wach?" ("Still awake?"), which had previously been considered a key novel about the Axel Springer media group.

When asked if they were friends, Suter said: "Yes." And von Stuckrad-Barre: "Absolutely." Suter: "We also call each other 'dear friend', and not ironically. In difficult times, Benjamin was one of the few people I could talk to quite normally about everything."
