Following the devastating gun attack at Charles University in Prague that left 14 people dead, the Swiss ambassador to the Czech Republic, Philippe Guex, has expressed his sympathy for the victims and their families. "I offer my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and express my deepest sympathy to the Czech government and the entire Czech population," he wrote on the short message service X on Thursday evening.
He was horrified when he heard about the "terrible attack" in which many students died in Prague this afternoon, wrote Guex.
A gunman has opened fire at a university in the center of Prague, killing at least 14 people. The suspected perpetrator is also dead, the police announced. It is assumed that he was a student at the university who had murdered his father shortly beforehand and was therefore wanted. The young man had probably been inspired by rampages abroad. There was initially no official information on the circumstances of his death or a possible motive.
