Swiss is resuming its flights to Tel Aviv with overnight stays for crews later than planned. The so-called night stops will not be reintroduced in mid-May, but in June. The reason for this is that a number of crew members have canceled these flights.
The Swiss media office confirmed a report by CH-Media titles on request. Recently, an increasing number of crew members have withdrawn from the flight service to Tel Aviv, it wrote in a statement. So far, Swiss has been able to fill the gaps and operate all flights as planned.
"However, we must currently assume that the reintroduction of overnight stays at the planned time could lead to additional bottlenecks that our operational planning may no longer be able to fully cope with," Swiss continues.
The airline emphasizes that the reason for the postponement is not due to safety concerns. Swiss only operates flights to Tel Aviv after carefully examining the situation on the ground. The safety of the crews, ground crews and passengers is always the top priority.
