Switzerland calls for “regional de-escalation” in the Middle East

Switzerland has called on the parties in the Middle East to engage in "urgent regional de-escalation". It also called for an "immediate ceasefire" in Gaza.
Finally, Switzerland appreciates the mediation efforts of the USA, Egypt and Qatar in the Middle East conflict. This was announced by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) in a post on the short message service X on Friday.
In a joint statement, the three countries had called on Israel and Hamas, which governs Gaza, to resume talks on August 15 in Doha or Cairo "in order to close all remaining gaps and begin implementing the agreement without further delay."
