Switzerland’s heaviest pumpkin weighs over 700 kilograms

The heaviest pumpkin in Switzerland weighs 727.5 kilograms. With this specimen, a man from Zurich won the Swiss pumpkin weighing championship in Jona SG on Saturday.
The winning pumpkin is of the squash variety and is characterized by its green color. The victory of the specimen from Esslingen ZH was a small sensation, as it was the first title for a pumpkin of this variety, the organizers wrote on their website.
The winning pumpkin and the second and third places will be on display at the Bächlihof for around a month before they are cut open and their flesh distributed.
