Temperature rises to over 20 degrees in Cevio TI on Christmas Eve

Temperatures in Cevio TI climbed to 20.6 degrees on Sunday. It is the first time that the weather station has broken the 20-degree mark on a Christmas Day, as the weather service Meteonews reported on Sunday.
The temperature has been measured in Cevio since 2013. According to Meteonews, temperatures were slightly lower in the rest of Ticino on Sunday.
December temperature records were already set in various places in Ticino on Saturday. In Locarno, temperatures reached 22.3 degrees, according to several weather services. This clearly broke the previous record of 20.9 degrees set on December 4, 1967.

In Biasca TI, 22.0 degrees was recorded, but the station there has only been in operation for a few years and therefore does not yet have any reliable climate statistics.
In Lugano, 21.3 degrees were measured, the only time it was warmer there was on December 5, 1931. A new December record was also set in Stabio near Chiasso TI with 20.6 degrees.
