The Armenian Community Expects More Support from Switzerland

The Armenian community in Switzerland met with Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on Friday. They welcomed the humanitarian aid provided by Switzerland, but called for a clear condemnation of Azerbaijan's attack on the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The Armenian delegation welcomed the Swiss government's commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the refugees in Nagorno-Karabakh, but urged the Swiss government to label the Azerbaijani attack as a "crime against humanity" and to condemn the state for the subsequent "ethnic cleansing". The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) reiterated its priorities: ceasefire, humanitarian access to Nagorno-Karabakh, and return to the negotiating table.
