The Swiss People's Party (SP) has gained a second seat in the National Council in the canton of Lucerne, at the expense of the Green Liberal Party (GLP), which has lost its only seat in the chamber. The other parties have managed to retain their seats.
The SP, which is the largest party in the canton, has increased its representation in the National Council from one to two seats. The GLP, which had held one seat in the chamber since 2015, has lost its only seat in the chamber. The other parties, including the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP), have all managed to retain their seats.
The result of the election in Lucerne is a reflection of the national trend, with the SP gaining ground and the GLP losing support. The SP has now gained a total of seven seats in the National Council, while the GLP has lost its only seat in the chamber. The other parties have maintained their representation in the chamber.
