Thieves blow up ATMs in the canton of Vaud

Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in Yvonand VD at around 2.25 a.m. on Tuesday night. They fled with an unknown amount of loot.
The explosion caused considerable damage to the residential and commercial building where the ATM was installed, according to the Vaud cantonal police on Tuesday. "Fortunately, no one was injured or affected by the smoke," police spokeswoman Florence Frei told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) was informed because the perpetrators had allegedly used explosives. The OAG is conducting the proceedings together with investigators from the Federal Police (Fedpol) and the cantonal police of Vaud.
