Three children aged two, eleven and 13 were found dead on Tuesday in a house in Taninges in the Haute-Savoie department west of Geneva. The search is now on for their mother, who suffers from depression.

This was announced by the police on Tuesday evening. The children were discovered by their father, who alerted the police, a source from the gendarmerie told the French news agency AFP.

The emergency services, who arrived at the scene at around 12.30 p.m., were only able to determine that the three children were dead. The authorities confirmed a corresponding report in the "Dauphiné Libéré" newspaper. According to the regional newspaper, around sixty police officers and a helicopter are involved in the search for the mother.

Taninges is a municipality with around 3,500 inhabitants and is located around 50 kilometers east of Geneva.
