Ticino emergency services do not have to deploy due to heavy rain

The emergency services in the canton of Ticino did not have to deploy due to thunderstorms on Saturday night. No damage was known early on Saturday morning, as a spokesperson for the Ticino cantonal police told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
According to a spokesman for the Ticino cantonal police, there was no information on any operations by the fire department or police due to the thunderstorm.
There were thunderstorms with heavy rain and wind in Ticino on Friday evening. In Magadino TI near Locarno, the Federal Office of Climatology and Meteorology (MeteoSwiss) recorded 37.1 millimetres of rain in ten minutes. This was the third-highest value in Switzerland since measurements began, as MeteoSwiss announced on Saturday night via the X news service. The wind swept over the municipality at 106 kilometers per hour.
