The Swiss Trade Association regrets the rejection of the two rental bills. The opportunity to eliminate unnecessary regulatory costs in tenancy law was missed.
The bill on subletting would have strengthened property rights and restored the balance between the rights of the tenant and the landlord, the Swiss Trade Association (sgv) wrote in a press release on Sunday.
The proposal to relax the requirements for asserting personal use would have freed owners and landlords from unnecessary regulatory costs, the report continued.
