Trains Resume Between La Chaux-de-Fonds and St-Imier

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) have resumed the service between La Chaux-de-Fonds NE and St-Imier BE on Saturday morning after the storm on Monday. Replacement buses were still running between Le Locle NE and La Chaux-de-Fonds. Due to extensive work to lay new foundations for overhead line masts, the Le Locle - La Chaux-de-Fonds line is not expected to return to normal until mid-August. The Neuenburg and La Chaux-de-Fonds line has been running normally since Wednesday. After a severe storm hit the city in the Neuenburger Jura on Monday, the SBB completely suspended train services at La Chaux-de-Fonds station due to numerous damages. These included damage to electrical systems and some service buildings, as well as several trees and a high-voltage mast falling onto the tracks between St-Imier and La Chaux-de-Fonds.
