The Swiss people voted in three cantons on seven issues. In Schwyz, the people voted against a partial revision of the law on motor vehicle taxes, with 61.38% voting against the proposal. The aim of the proposal was to reduce the tax burden on electric vehicles to the same level as vehicles with combustion engines. In Solothurn, the people voted in favour of building a new central prison with 130 places in Deitingen/Flumenthal, following the recommendation of the government and most parties. The cost of the project is 120 million Swiss francs. In Uri, the people voted against replacing existing electric resistance heating systems with new ones. They also voted in favour of building a 170 metre tunnel for hikers and walkers, making the data protection officer more independent from the government, giving the cantonal bank more freedom to operate in the market, and joining the intercantonal agreement on contributions to medical training.
