On Saturday, a 57-year-old woman and her 63-year-old partner were found dead in their shared apartment in Wettingen AG. According to the findings of the justice authorities, the woman is believed to have initially killed the man with a firearm before shooting herself. Relatives had found the two deceased Swiss people in the apartment of a multi-family house, as the Aargau cantonal prosecutor's office announced on Friday. The police, the prosecutor's office and the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Canton of Aargau were on site with a large deployment. The prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to clarify the background of the act, as stated in the statement. It is currently not assumed that any other persons were involved.
