Woman seriously injured after ethanol explosion in St. Gallen

A woman was seriously injured by an explosion while filling an ethanol heater in St. Gallen on Tuesday morning. According to the cantonal police, burning ethanol got onto the woman's skin and clothes. A helicopter flew her to hospital.
The explosion occurred in office premises, as the St. Gallen cantonal police wrote in a statement on Wednesday. The 64-year-old woman suffered "serious" burns. The fire was extinguished by a third party and then by the fire department.
