Woman seriously injured in hospital after apartment fire in Vaud

A woman was seriously injured in an apartment fire in Chavannes-près-Renens VD on Sunday morning. Firefighters found the woman unconscious inside the apartment as they were fighting the fire.
The woman was taken to Lausanne University Hospital, according to the Vaud cantonal police on Sunday. The fire broke out on the sixth floor of a building. Several other residents inhaled smoke but did not need to be hospitalized. They were cared for on site.
The building was partially evacuated. The authorities launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
