At its delegates' meeting in Lucerne on Saturday, the Junge Mitte Schweiz adopted three slogans relating to pension provision. It rejected the initiative for a 13th AHV pension and the pension initiative, but supported the BVG reform.
The Junge Mitte is clearly committed to the reform of occupational pensions (BVG reform) and emphasizes the need to adapt the system to today's working world, it said in a statement on Saturday evening.
The reform will strengthen the financing of the 2nd pillar, reduce the redistribution from young to old and improve the protection of part-time and multiple employees - and thus women in particular.
The initiative for a 13th AHV pension will be rejected because the additional benefits, "distributed according to the watering can principle", would further worsen the financial situation of the 1st pillar and thus endanger the intergenerational contract even more, according to the Junge Mitte.
The Young Center also rejects the Young Finns' pension initiative, which "envisages a pure linking of the retirement age to life expectancy and does not include any social aspects". What is needed is "a socially and fairly designed reform of the AHV". The Young Party is calling for the examination of future models such as working life and other financing options.
