Zurich Airport no longer wants to see its service center "The Circle" as a shopping mall: "We have come to the conclusion that we want to move away from the image of the Circle as a major retail destination," said Head of Real Estate Lydia Naef.
While office space, restaurants and hotels are always well occupied, "certain adjustments" need to be made to the stores. "The Circle should be even more of a business hub, a campus," said the airport's head of real estate in an interview with CH Media published on Tuesday. "The spaces in the aisles that were intended for well-known brands could in future be rented out to companies that present their innovations and products to the public on the first floor, for example."
"The Circle", with a total area of 180,000 square meters, was opened during the coronavirus pandemic at the end of 2020.
