Shots Fired in Zug: Kosovan Suspect Now in Custody

Zug became the scene of a critical shooting incident, resulting in life-threatening injuries for a Swiss man.

A man sustained life-threatening injuries when he was shot in Zug’s Landsgemeindeplatz on Friday night. The suspected shooter was arrested on Friday morning.

The violent crime occurred at 03:30 on Friday, as reported by the Zug law enforcement authorities.

The victim, a 34-year-old Swiss man, was taken to hospital by ambulance after receiving initial medical treatment. There, the critically injured man underwent emergency surgery. His condition was stable, according to a statement issued on Friday afternoon.

The perpetrator fled the scene before the police arrived, according to the law enforcement authorities. They then began an “intensive investigation” and launched a manhunt.

The police were able to locate the suspect shortly after 10 a.m. in Zug. The suspected shooter was then arrested by the Luchs intervention unit, according to the statement. He is a 30-year-old Kosovan.

The law enforcement authorities did not provide any information on the motive or the exact course of events. These are the subject of further investigations, they said.
