Geneva flights grounded at the height of travel season

Travelers hoping to fly in and out of Geneva Airport on what is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year may have to make alternate plans. Airport workers walked out this morning in protest – cancelling at least 400 flights affecting 54,000 angry passengers. It is the first strike since the airport opened in 1919. Más información.

Red Cross president resigns amid controversy

The president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Geneva, Francesco Rocca, will step down from his role by the end of the year, according to an internal note recently leaked by Swiss media. The Swiss companies that keep trading Russian oil

Although not explicitly sanctioned, western companies have largely diminished trading Russian oil since the outbreak of war. Not so for Swiss-headquartered companies Gunvor and Vitol. UBS to let go of 50% of Credit Suisse employees

About half of the former Credit Suisse employees will be let go in the completion of the state-backed shotgun merger of UBS and CS, according to UBS insiders.
