The Trême, a tributary of the Saane, is at the centre of local news, as the River brings a new causality.

On Thursday, a 72-year-old woman died while swimming in the River Trême in Bulle FR. A current had caught her and carried her away. The woman was found lifeless several hundred meters further downstream.

The incident occurred shortly before 4 pm. A 69-year-old woman alerted the police that her friend had been swept away by the current while swimming and could no longer be found.

The emergency services were finally able to locate the missing woman. However, immediate resuscitation was unsuccessful, as the Fribourg cantonal police reported on Friday.

It has launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
