A 120-metre-long crack has formed in the ground at the Mesocco South freeway junction. It was initially unclear whether this was caused by the storm. External experts are currently investigating the crack.
As of Friday, no results were yet available regarding the effects, the Grisons Civil Engineering Office wrote in a statement this afternoon.
On Friday, the office opened the cleared cantonal road for travelers with a verifiable reservation in Misox. People with a destination between San Bernardino and Grono GR are authorized to use the cleared cantonal road. Due to the clearing work, this road can otherwise only be used by local traffic.
Transit traffic that cannot pass the A13, which was destroyed by the storms, must not be routed via the cantonal road. It is crucial to keep as much traffic as possible out of the area so that the road is available for construction machinery, trucks and the local population, the Graubünden Civil Engineering Office continued.
