Thirteen Swiss citizens have left the crisis-stricken country of Niger as of Sunday. Around 20 Swiss nationals remain in the country. The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) has not planned an organised evacuation, but is in contact with those who remain in Niger. The individuals are free to leave the country at their own cost and risk, and the EDA will provide support if necessary. The EDA also noted that the airport in the capital city of Niamey is operational and commercial flights are available. Most of the Swiss citizens who left Niger did so on Wednesday evening with a French-organised evacuation flight.nnnn
