19-jähriger Alfaré an Eurovision Young Musicians

After the Eurovision Song Contest, the Eurovision competition for young classical musicians: 19-year-old Valerian Alfaré will represent Switzerland with his euphonium at the final of the Eurovision Young Musicians competition (EYM) in Bodø (N).
A three-member jury of experts selected him. He will perform as a soloist with his brass instrument in Norway on August 17, as announced by Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) on Wednesday. He impressed the expert jury with his technical mastery and stage presence.
This makes him ideally suited to represent Switzerland on the stage in Bodø. SRF 1 will broadcast the international competition. The eleven finalists will be accompanied by the Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Stomen Konserthus.
Valerian Alfaré plays the trumpet as well as the euphonium. As a trumpet player, he is particularly interested in jazz and is a member of the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra.
According to the information provided, he primarily plays classical and new music on the euphonium. Among other things, he won the Swiss Youth Music Competition 2021. On June 29, Alfaré will perform on the SRF program "Potzmusig".
The Swiss selection for Eurovision Young Musicians was made by SRF in cooperation with music training centers and the Swiss Youth Music Competition. Young people between the ages of 14 and 21 are eligible to take part.
SRF is one of the eleven public broadcasters participating in the young talent project of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBU also organizes the European Song Contest (ESC).
