The 31st Verbier Festival has sold 40,000 tickets. This is the second best year for the renowned classical music festival since it was founded. After 18 days of top-class concerts, this year's edition came to an end on Sunday.

The public appreciated the quality and variety of the 2024 programme, the organizers announced on Monday. Ticket sales (including tickets sold with sponsor discounts and invitations) were 11 percent up on the previous year. Alongside the Lucerne Festival and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Verbier Festival is one of the major classical music events in Switzerland.

The Festival also announced that Peter Brabeck-Letmathe is stepping down as Chairman of the Festival Foundation. The former Nestlé CEO intends to devote himself to the development of the planned Verbier Cultural Center. A hall with 700 to 800 seats is planned, which will be used by the festival and in which events will be offered all year round.

Peter Brabeck-Letmathe will become President of the new foundation behind the center, which is due to open by 2030. The upcoming 32nd edition of the Verbier Festival will take place from July 16 to August 3, 2025.
