41-year-old female driver dies in an accident on the A1 in Vaud

A 41-year-old female driver was killed in an accident on the A1 highway between Rolle VD and Aubonne VD on Saturday night. She had lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons.
The accident occurred shortly before one o'clock, the Vaud cantonal police reported on Saturday. Another driver had informed police headquarters that a car was lying on its roof in a field next to the road. Despite the immediate intervention of the emergency services, the woman died at the scene of the accident.
It was not initially known why the woman lost control of her car. The vehicle subsequently rolled over several times. It then came to rest on its roof in an adjacent field. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation. The affected lane of the highway was closed for several hours.
