The Lucerne Carnival entered its second round on Monday. Around 5000 people took part in the Wey-Tagwache on Kappellplatz at 06:00. According to the Lucerne police on the short message service X, the atmosphere was peaceful and exuberant.
Güdismontag is the Wey guild's day of honor. This guild was founded in 1925 by tradespeople from the Wey quarter to revive the carnival, which had been neglected by the venerable Zunft zu Safran at the time. In the afternoon, the big Wey parade marches through the town.
The Lucerne Carnival began last Thursday with the big bang and the first big parade of the Zunft zu Safran. The Lucerne Carnival comes to an end on the night of Ash Wednesday.
