67-year-old cyclist seriously injured near Bauma ZH

A cyclist was seriously injured in a fall in Bauma ZU on Monday. The 67-year-old was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter, according to the Zurich cantonal police. The police are looking for witnesses.

The cyclist was riding on Bliggenswilerstrasse shortly before 1.30 p.m. when he fell at the so-called "Chatzentöbeli" for unexplained reasons and sustained serious injuries, according to the police.

After receiving first aid from an ambulance, the man was flown to hospital in a Rega helicopter. The police are asking anyone who can provide information about the accident to come forward. The cause of the fall is unclear and the direction of travel of the accident victim is also unknown.
