A woman has been rescued alive by rescue workers from a cone of rubble in the southern Graubünden valley of Misox GR. The police believe that three more people are trapped in the southern Graubünden valley.

At least one life was saved, as a police officer from the cantonal police of Graubünden said on Saturday morning at a media conference in Roveredo, which was broadcast by Italian-language television RSI. On Friday evening, massive thunderstorms and rainfall led to a flood situation.

The operational area of the emergency services extended over a length of 20 kilometers. A cone of rubble had covered several houses. The police assume that a total of four people were trapped. The woman who was rescued was transferred to a hospital.

The police officer said that the emergency services on site would continue to search for the three missing people using helicopters and drones. The location of the missing persons is not known.
