Amherd and von der Leyen appear before the media on Friday afternoon

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has planned a joint press statement with President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amherd in Bern on Friday afternoon. Negotiations between Switzerland and the EU are expected to be concluded on Friday.
The joint appearance could be seen in the program of the European Commission's video information service European Broadcasting Service (EBS) on Friday. According to the schedule, the two politicians are due to appear before the media at 2.15 pm.
According to various media reports, the Federal Council will decide on the conclusion of the negotiations at its meeting on Friday. The reports could not be confirmed, as the Federal Council has sovereignty over the agenda until the very end.
Amherd traveled to Brussels to meet von der Leyen at the start of the negotiations on March 18, 2024.
