Amherd and von der Leyen meet at Cern

President Viola Amherd met with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Geneva as part of Cern's 70th anniversary celebrations. Together they discussed the modernization of the agreement between Switzerland and the EU.
"We are making progress, but there is still a lot of work to do," von der Leyen wrote in a post on X about the talks. Both are aiming to conclude the talks by the end of 2024. The talks also focused on the security situation in Europe, Amherd wrote in her own post.
