Analysis of Election Results Does Not Show Significant Changes for Federal Council Election

The Meinungsforschungsinstitut GFS Bern analysis of the upcoming Swiss Federal Council elections suggests that neither the Green Party nor the Green Liberals are likely to gain enough votes to secure a seat. The ‘Masterplan of the Centre’, which aimed to create a clear distance between the Green candidate and the Centre, appears to have been successful. The marginal lead of the Centre over the FDP is too small to unseat an existing Federal Councillor. A Federal Chancellor seat could be a suitable consolation prize for the Centre.
