The Gösgen nuclear power plant in the canton of Solothurn will be out of maintenance for a few days longer than announced. Work on a part of the plant in the turbine building, outside the nuclear area, is taking longer than planned, as announced by Kernkraftwerk Gösgen-Däniken AG on Monday.
The annual overhaul of the Gösgen nuclear power plant (KKG) has thus been extended from four to four and a half weeks, it was reported. During the overhaul of a water separator reheater, it became apparent that replacement components would require work that would take longer.
The audit, which has been ongoing since May 25, is therefore expected to continue until next week. According to KKG, further work on the annual audit is proceeding according to plan and has already been largely completed.
