Around a thousand people gathered in Bern on Saturday to demonstrate for the right to migration and asylum. The rally was held under the motto "No borders between us".

The demonstration was called by the migration policy movement Solidarité sans frontières and more than a hundred other organizations and parties. The participants gathered at Schützenmatte in the early afternoon, as reported by a correspondent of the Keystone-SDA news agency. The parade route led through the city center to the Federal Palace.

The asylum and migration regime is characterized by exclusion and disenfranchisement, was criticized. Many people who live here are reduced to their migration history and excluded in a racist manner.

That needs to change. "We are all part of an open and diverse society," the appeal said. "We will not allow ourselves to be divided."
