There will be a change in management at the Association of Swiss Cantonal Banks (ASCB). The Board of Directors of the industry association has appointed Oliver Buschan as the new Director with effect from the beginning of July 2025. He will replace Hanspeter Hess, who will retire on this date.
Buschan is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), where he is responsible for financial markets and regulation, according to a press release issued by the ASCB on Friday. In this role, he has played a key role in shaping the regulatory framework for banks in Switzerland, according to the Association of Cantonal Banks.
The retiring ASCB Director Hanspeter Hess joined the association's office in 1995 and was appointed Director in 2006. During his many years in office, Hess played a decisive role in shaping the association's political work and strengthened its position as a "significant voice in the Swiss banking sector", writes the ASCB.
