The resurfacing work on the A1 section Recherswil-Luterbach in the canton of Solothurn went according to plan in the first week. According to the Federal Roads Office (Astra), the mobile construction site bridge "Astra-Bridge" in the direction of Zurich has already been moved.
The first surfacing work was carried out on Wednesday, Astra announced on Friday. The construction site bridge was moved 300 meters from Wednesday to Thursday.
The surface layer was then laid on the next section of road. The last postponement took place from Thursday to Friday. Work was suspended at the weekend. The next shift of another 100 meters is scheduled for Monday night.
The road surface is being renewed under the approximately 280-metre-long "Astra Bridge", and traffic is moving over the bridge. The permitted speed is 60 km/h. The mobile bridge was optimized for its second use. The access and exit ramps were made significantly flatter.
Traffic flow has been guaranteed so far, Astra stated in its assessment. There have been no significant delays. As expected, there are localized queues during the morning and evening peaks. So far, there have been no indications of traffic diverting onto the cantonal roads.
