The Balkan open-air festival Balkan Beats will take place for the first time in Kloten ZH at the end of June. The line-up includes folk singer Aca Lukas and pop singer Lepa Brena, as the organizers announced on Thursday.
This is the first Balkan open air in Switzerland. The line-up, which ranges from folk to EDM to rap, celebrates the "rich diversity of Balkan culture", according to the press release. Around 20 acts from countries such as Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Bulgaria will be performing. Among them is the Bernese rapper Gen.
The aim of the festival is to "bring the impressive range and richness of Balkan culture closer to Switzerland" and to promote intercultural exchange, organizer Anton Bibicaj was quoted as saying in the press release. Presenter Adela Smajic, former Swiss Bachelorette, will host the event.
The open-air event will take place on June 29.
