Beat Läuchli becomes overall project manager for the ESC in Basel

Event manager Beat Läuchli has been appointed overall project manager for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 in Basel. The 45-year-old economist will take up the position with immediate effect, as announced by the Canton of Basel-Stadt on Thursday.

Läuchli is the owner and managing director of the Basel-based company "Belco Consulting". He has extensive experience in the organization of events, according to the press release. His mandates include the management of the Young Stage circus festival, the project management of the Flâneur Festival, the management of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships Basel 2021 and the project management of the Basel Sports Market.

Läuchli is also known as an organizer in the Basel carnival scene. He is a member of the committee and responsible for the Drummeli. This year, the biggest pre-carnival event took place under his leadership for the first time.

In the coming weeks, the canton will draw up the further ESC project organization with cantonal and external representatives. In addition, a steering committee will be set up with Basel's President of the Government Conradin Cramer (LDP), the Head of the Department of Justice and Security Stephanie Eymann (LDP) and the Director of Education Mustafa Atici (SP), according to the statement.
