Birkin Shines in Swiss Short Film and Sings at Paléo in Nyon

Jane Birkin had many connections to Switzerland. She performed at several festivals in the West of Switzerland, including Paléo in Nyon, Montreux Jazz Festival and Rock Oz'Arènes in Avenches VD. In November 2022, she performed at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva, with the proceeds going to the Glückskette to help Ukraine. Birkin also starred in the Swiss short film "La femme et le TGV" by Timo von Gunten, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2017. In 2016, the Locarno Film Festival honoured Birkin with a Leopard for her lifetime achievement and a retrospective. In September 2021, Birkin suffered a mild stroke and had to cancel all international appearances, including a planned concert in Montreux for the "Septembre musical" festival.
