Minister Ignazio Cassis spoke in Jakarta on Tuesday for the National Day. He praised the peaceful coexistence of different cultures, languages, religions and worldviews, which both Switzerland and Indonesia share. He referred to Indonesia's motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika", which translates to "Unity in Diversity" and could just as easily be the motto of Switzerland. Cassis said that the relationship between Switzerland and Indonesia is already a success, but there is still potential. He emphasised the need to maintain the spirit of our ancestors, which means preserving the entrepreneurial spirit of both countries and keeping the door open to a liberal and peaceful world.nn
