After counting the postal votes, the race for the four National Council seats in the canton of Basel-Stadt is still open. 53,502 valid ballots have been counted so far. The conservative alliance between the LDP, FDP, EVP and GLP has gained 34.6% of the votes, slightly more than in 2019 when they gained 34%. The alliance between the SP, Greens and BastA! has 48.6% of the votes, which is less than in 2019 when they gained 52.4%. The SVP has 14.3% of the votes, 1.7% more than in 2019. It is still uncertain whether the Left can keep its three seats. With the new legislature, the city canton loses one seat in the National Council, and five incumbents are competing for the remaining four seats. They are facing strong competition from the former Basel FDP government councillor Baschi Dürr. The incumbents competing for re-election in the canton of Basel-Stadt are Mustafa Atici and Sarah Wyss (both SP), Sibel Arslan from the Left Party Basta with the Greens, LDP representative Patricia von Falkenstein and Katja Christ (GLP).
