Clear approval expected for Moutier Concordat (Trend)

In the cantons of Bern and Jura, there is clear support for the Moutier Concordat. This is the result of a trend calculation by Schweizer Radio SRF. The agreement regulates the transfer of the small canton of Moutier from Bern to the Jura.
In the canton of Jura, the proportion of votes in favor was over 71% after 34 out of 50 municipalities were counted, according to the State Chancellery. In the canton of Bern, the proportion of Yes votes in the first administrative district to be counted, Obersimmental/Saanen, was over 80 percent, according to information from the State Chancellery.
Approval of the agreement was generally expected in advance. The change of canton from Moutier at the beginning of 2026 should bring the decades-old Jura issue to a definitive conclusion.
