Climber killed in an accident in the Saanenland

A climber fell to his death in the Gastlosen in the Bernese Oberland on Thursday. The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated, as the cantonal police announced on Friday.
The man has yet to be identified. According to the police, he had fallen over a hundred meters down a rock face in the area of the Eggturm. A woman, who was also on the descent, remained unharmed. She was flown out by helicopter. The Gastlosen region belongs to the municipality of Saanen.
